Random snow pics.
(Because I’m determined to pretend I haven’t seen snow before.)
You know, it’s been kind of fun running around acting like a snow neophyte. In our age of irony, or post-irony, or whatever it is we do with ourselves now, it seems more important to place oneself on the wrong side of simple things. You’re not supposed to enjoy snow, you’re supposed to rant about how nobody can drive in it. Well guess what? I walk everywhere, and I can walk in snow just fine (most of the time) so the driving thing doesn’t interest me. What interests me? Tramping around in the snow.
Here’s a tip I figured out during my tramping: If you don’t put up your hood, snow will accumulate in it and spill down your neck when you finally remember you have head protection conveniently attached to your jacket.
Also, snow makes people stay in their homes. You can walk around in peace and quiet. All you’ll hear is the occasional Nashvillian steering their car into a lamp post. They’ll usually yodel something that sounds like the end of a sad country song when this happens, because everyone in Nashville is linked to country music.
I think tomorrow morning will be prime photography time, but here are a few from this afternoon:
Alumni Lawn, on the Vanderbilt campus. This is before a snowball fight of epic proportions:

Dang, y’all! I done crashed my car and now I’m cold! I’m gonna write a song about this.

Just a road near my apartment…

Ohhhh, I love the peace and quiet of walking in the snow when no one else is out. Nothing like it.
