Time warp.
I finished my last paper of the semester last week and entered some sort of time warp. After four months of a hectic schedule, suddenly everything fell off my calendar and I immediately forgot what day it was. I woke up on Sunday thinking it was Tuesday, then I woke up this morning and thought it was Saturday. I think it’s actually Monday, but I’m not sure. Anyway, I’m still sorting things out.
Somehow, I need to manufacture discipline and stick to a reading/writing schedule over the next three weeks. My thesis, which will be composed of 6-8 short stories, is due next semester. A draft of it is due when I get back from winter break…and the person reviewing that draft could, at various points in my writing career, be described as my writing idol. Currently I would say that I don’t have writing idols anymore, but that feeling comes and goes. Regardless of Writing Idol status, it’s a bit nerve-wracking. Best just to forget what day it is and watch TV.
Oh, and eat candy.
