Nine days.

Not much more to say today besides “Holy crap, nine more days!” Due to some scheduling changes we’ve reached single digits on the countdown earlier than expected. Seeing the number move from 10 to 9 made me realize how many random tasks I need to complete before I go.

So….yeah, that’s all I’ve got. I’m off to sort through a house full of stuff to pick out what I’m going to cram into my car next Saturday morning.

When I hit 9 days it was like time shifted into warp speed. One minute, I was living in Taos and packing up the last of my stuff, next minute I was unpacked and living in Soho. I’ll be curious to hear if it’s the same for you. Be gone, Limbo!

I thought the day counter had taken a strange leap. Here is a quote from a rather overworked trapeze analogy I found in my folder of miscellaneous clippings: (The Essene Book of Days for 1988, Danaan Parry):

“…Whether or not my hunch is true, it remains that the transition zones in our lives are incredibly rich places. They should be honored, even savored. Yes, with all the pain and fear and feelings of being out-of-control that can (but not necessarily) accompany transitions, they are the most alive, most growth-filled, passsionate, expansive moments of our lives.”

Well, I’ve been through a few transitions and the quote rings true, Sarah!

Things definitely feel warp-speedy today. I learned that I can balance my coffee mug on a stack of clothes and make it up one flight of stairs without incident…

I do like that quote. I did not feel alive, growth-filled, or passionate in my cubicle and it was best to remove myself from that situation — for me, the replacement who would give more than 10% of their energy to that role (and like it!), and everyone else around me.

The groovey feelings from the quote are probably felt most during moments of reflection, like when you’re driving to Nashville.
