Momentary lapse of MoodyTunes.

I’m going to take a break from the blog for a couple of weeks. I completed my grad school applications and I’m moving on to another phase, that being the mailing of my stories so they can be rejected efficiently and ruthlessly by all of the wonderful, talented editors out there.

Thankful: Yay or Nay?

Let’s assume I’m thankful for all the things you’ve heard before: friends, family, having a fortunate life, Guitar Hero, and my complete lack of ego. Ok? Now, allow me to assume you’re thankful for all the things I expect you to be thankful for, namely, me and my role in your lives. Excellent. Let’s proceed.

Que?

An article from one of my local newspapers: Man threatened with knife for speaking Spanish. In summary, a guy went to a gas station around here, spoke to his friend in Spanish, and a helpful fellow customer threatened to cut him if he didn’t speak English. Why? Because this is the U.S. of A. That’s [...]

Kinder, gentler war.

It’s a death-defying life I lead.

I’ve posted better pictures than this before but I thought I’d give you a little taste of my lunch break yesterday. First, for all you commuters out there in your fancy big cities with those fascinating “Metro” systems and “Beltways” and “HOV Lanes,” I walk to work. I can walk home at lunch if I’m [...]

Fun and games.

I finally witnessed a game of Jenga this weekend and I can’t say I was that impressed. Stack some blocks, then start pulling blocks out. Surprise! The whole thing falls down. That’s genius right there. Not the game, no, that’s stupid. I did that when I was four years old with generic blocks or pots [...]

Empty Recycle Bin?

How do you treat your e-mail? Seems like there are two schools of thought out there: delete everything that isn’t absolutely necessary, or keep every last message. I bounce back and forth between the philosophies and that’s probably the worst thing to do. I let messages accumulate, purge large quantities of them when I get [...]
